Viktor’s “Transformation” After Arcane Season 2
Last weekend, the final three episodes of Arcane Season 2 officially premiered, bringing the blockbuster series from Riot Games to a close. This is considered a satisfying conclusion as the conflicts, technological issues, and the discrimination between the two cities of Piltover and Zaun, as well as the relationships of characters (Viktor, Jayce, Caitlyn, Jinx, Vi…) have all been resolved. Although many characters sacrificed themselves in the film, their departures contributed significantly to the story of Arcane.

One of the major highlights of Arcane Season 2 is the development journey of Viktor regarding his ideals and appearance. Riot had previously shared that the stories in Arcane are part of the original universe of League of Legends, so it was inevitable for them to adjust this character to align with the storyline presented in the film. Recently, a series of images and videos showcasing Viktor’s “transformation” have surfaced, providing the audience with a more accurate view of this character.

According to the aforementioned “leak” videos, Viktor will no longer possess a robotic appearance as before. Instead, he will resemble a powerful magical entity created by Arcane energy, surrounded by ancient symbols. Additionally, dataminers have discovered that the skill effects of the “new” Viktor will also change to patterns similar to the powers of Arcane in the film.

Moreover, Viktor will also be added to Teamfight Tactics Season 13 themed around Arcane in the future. An image revealed shows that the character Mel Merada will also be added to “TFT” alongside Viktor. Based on the developments in the Arcane film, it is likely that Mel will belong to the Black Rose race while Viktor will have a unique race of his own. These upgrades are set to appear in the upcoming 14.24 patch of TFT. Meanwhile, Viktor’s rework in League of Legends is expected to be released on November 12 (US time).

This is seen as a “make amends” move by Riot Games towards gamers, as they previously received a lot of backlash for not including Viktor in TFT Season 13. Very likely, if the “new” Viktor and Mel Merada had been introduced from the start in TFT Season 13, it would have “spoiled” important plot points of the Arcane film. Thus, Riot had to wait until all episodes of the film were released before revealing images of Viktor.
Following Arcane, a series of interesting stories will be aired by Riot
In a recent post on Twitter (now X), Riot’s co-founder Marc “Tryndamere” Merrill revealed that they will be producing more films set in the League of Legends universe. Therefore, Arcane will only stop at Season 2 to make way for other intriguing stories. With the introduction of magic and ancient symbols in Arcane, many hope that Riot can further explore this theme.

Additionally, stories about conflicts of faith, beliefs at the peak of Targon, Ionia, or ancient wars, Darkin wars… are also incredibly captivating themes. With the high quality of visuals and storytelling in Arcane, audiences have every right to expect that Riot’s upcoming films will be similar masterpieces. Hopefully, Riot Games will soon announce their next project so that audiences and fans won’t have to wait too long.
