Chovy Admits He Once Was in Poor Condition
When KeSPA officially announced the roster for South Korea’s LMHT team at ASIAD 2026, many were surprised to see Zeka in the Midlane position instead of Chovy. The reason was later revealed that Chovy had suffered an injury and could not participate with the team. Chovy’s mother personally posted a letter confirming the situation and helped calm the public speculation around the matter. Recently, after Gen.G finished the group stage of the 2026 LCK Rounds 1-2, Chovy also shared about his current condition.

According to Chovy: “Currently, throughout the season, Gen.G has been regularly providing me treatment, including hospital visits. However, I am recovering quite well, but honestly, I’m not sure if there is significant progress yet. Recently, it seems that managing my health has become a bit easier.”
Chovy’s Form Will Greatly Impact Gen.G’s Upcoming Journey
One reality this season is that Gen.G does not project the same “unbeatable aura” as before. Even against weaker opponents, Gen.G has faced many difficulties, and smooth, flawless wins have become extremely rare. Chovy’s injury is likely one of the contributing factors. Nevertheless, Gen.G’s Midlaner continues to perform well and currently holds the highest POM score.

Moreover, the season has only just passed about one-third of its course, and Chovy’s form will undoubtedly continue to have a significant influence on Gen.G’s gameplay and their ability to compete for titles as the reigning LCK champions in the near future.
