Oner speaks out for the first time about his absence from the ASIAD roster
Recently, alongside intense matches, the League of Legends community has been closely following the announcement of national rosters for ASIAD, especially South Korea — currently the strongest LoL region in the world. The most notable absence is Oner, which has sparked much debate. Recently, Oner himself spoke out for the first time about being left off the South Korean LoL roster for the upcoming ASIAD.
Specifically, Oner stated he will not appeal his position on the ASIAD roster and will sincerely support his chosen teammates in this event: “Actually, it didn’t take me long to make the decision, probably about an hour. After deciding, I immediately informed my teammates, the team management, and my agency. Everyone around me suggested I think it over carefully. That did have some influence, but I felt uncomfortable appealing.”
Oner could still join South Korea’s roster for ENC 2026
Although absent from ASIAD, Oner could be called up for ENC 2026 at the end of the year, as the roster will allow up to seven players. Meanwhile, Oner and his T1 teammates are performing strongly with an undefeated streak in the LCK 2026 Rounds 1-2 group stage. If they maintain this form, T1 could even aim for the Road to MSI 2026 championship.
Oner’s top priority remains winning titles with T1 this season, and so far, he is performing very well. His absence from ASIAD is unfortunate, but his response will earn him even more respect from the LoL community.
