HLE Emerges as One of the Most Unpredictable Teams
Within the broader LMHT scene and specifically the LCK, recent seasons have seen many teams with extremely high ceilings and skill levels, but also very low floors. These teams can dominate LMHT at their peak but surprise everyone when they falter. However, it may be only in the 2026 season that LMHT and the LCK have witnessed a case quite like HLE.
Specifically, since this roster was formed until now, HLE has demonstrated a “wild” playstyle, unafraid to engage aggressively with any opponent. As a result, in nearly every match across multiple tournaments—especially since the start of LCK 2026 Rounds 1-2—HLE’s games have recorded very high kill counts. But due to this style, HLE must maintain their highest possible form throughout, which has proven nearly impossible in practice. No team remains undefeated indefinitely. Even in their match against KT, HLE showed that when encountering difficulties, they attempt to solve problems through more fights, which drags them deeper into trouble. This confirms that when HLE is soaring, they are “unstoppable,” as seen in their previous winning streak. Yet when they decline or lose form, their “floor” is alarmingly low.
HLE Needs Stability in the Crucial Stage
Currently, the group stage of LCK 2026 Rounds 1-2 is nearing completion, and barring any changes, HLE will top the standings and have two chances at Road to MSI 2026. The key, however, is that they must avoid any dip in form at this critical moment to prevent repeating last year’s Road to MSI disappointment.
