HLE shows consistency across all positions
Compared to the LCK Cup 2026 just three months ago, HLE today presents a completely different face. The same five players who competed together in the tournament considered the “kickoff” of the LCK season now display terrifying cohesion and balance. Their undefeated streak since the first match against T1 is the clearest proof, despite facing strong teams like Gen.G, T1, KT, and DK. This balance has also brought HLE a unique achievement: the only team in LCK 2026 Rounds 1-2 where all five members have earned POMs.
Recently, Gumayusi earned POM in the HLE vs DNS match. Although his KDA might not look outstanding for an ADC, Gumayusi’s contribution was clearly significant. In fact, in both critical Baron moments that pushed DNS away from victory, Gumayusi played a huge role, from positioning and poking damage to the subsequent team fights.
More importantly, Gumayusi’s POM proves that HLE is performing at a high level across all roles, with anyone capable of shining. This is a crucial foundation for HLE to maintain stability in the upcoming important phases, as the group stage is still undecided and the Road to MSI 2026 awaits.
HLE needs to maintain long-term consistency
High performance during the group stage has become less rare in recent years, with teams like T1, Gen.G, KT, and previously HLE achieving it. But the more critical phases like Playoffs and the upcoming Road to MSI 2026, when teams give their all to win, often bring surprising results.
HLE is performing very well, but they cannot be complacent as strong teams like Gen.G, T1, and KT still have chances to challenge their top spots and qualification for MSI in Korea.
