The “Lucky” Champions of League of Legends Thanks to T1
In the history of League of Legends, more than 170 champions have appeared to date, and many of them have owned Worlds skins. In fact, some names have more than one skin due to their versatility and significant contributions to their team’s victories, or simply because that champion was favored by a player, such as Lee Sin or Orianna. However, the cases of Ambessa and Yunara are particularly special as they are the only two champions to have Worlds skins in their very first professional season.

Specifically, both Ambessa and Yunara made their debut in the professional League of Legends scene in the 2025 season, quickly becoming hot picks. Despite various adjustments, this duo has appeared in nearly 100% of professional League of Legends matches to date. Thanks to T1’s championship victory, Ambessa and Yunara were chosen for skins, in the hands of Doran and Gumayusi.

Notably, Ambessa is actually a champion that Doran can play well, but Yunara has been a champion that has faced a lot of criticism for Gumayusi. Riot admitted they designed the champion based on T1’s AD’s playstyle. However, Gumayusi himself struggled with this champion. It wasn’t until the end of the season, just before the Worlds, that Gumayusi finally “tamed” this champion.

This Duo Could Even Get More Worlds Skins in the Future
With what has been displayed in the current season, the duo from last season, Ambessa – Yunara, is still contributing significantly to their teams’ successes and failures. It is even possible that in the future, these two champions will have more Worlds skins, given their strong presence in the current metas.
