The “Winter Festival” (Frost Festival) is an annual in-game event of PUBG Mobile. First held in 2020, this event has gradually become a familiar gathering for gamers every year-end; marking the introduction of a new update version of PUBG Mobile and igniting the spirit of fun and relaxation for players before the new year. Initially starting as an Online mode, the Winter Festival has progressively made its way into the real world through a series of Offline festivals in all regions where PUBG Mobile is released globally.
Vietnam is no exception to this trend as publisher VNGGames brought the Frost Festival – Break Your Ice to the gamer community last weekend (December 21-22) at the Thanh Nien Cultural Center (Ho Chi Minh City). With a new theme message: “Break Your Ice”, the organizers hope that attendees can break free from barriers both in-game and in life, stepping out of their comfort zones to prepare for a new year full of energy and positivity with PUBG Mobile.

During the two days of the Frost Festival – Break Your Ice, over 5,000 fans had the opportunity to immerse themselves in a vibrant gaming space and a true music festival, realistically recreating the Winter Festival scene in PUBG Mobile. VNGGames prepared 6 lively game booths along with thousands of exclusive gifts to distribute. The organizers even brought a series of “rain of gifts”, allowing fans to both feel excited and have extra chances to receive special prizes. Additionally, attendees had the chance to check-in with beautiful cosplayers dressed in outfits inspired by PUBG Mobile characters such as Water Goddess, Star Diva, and Sensual Reindeer.

Most notably, the organizers made a “big play” by inviting three super popular artists to the Frost Festival – Break Your Ice, including artists Kay Tran, Neko Le, and Bui Cong Nam. Alongside this, many famous PUBG Mobile KOLs/Streamers like streamer Ngân Sát Thủ – LeVis (a former Esports athlete who won a gold medal at SEA Games 31), streamer Bộ Bim, and streamer PO TV made appearances. With a grand stage and quality performances, attendees experienced heightened emotions, fully engaging in two electrifying music nights, even receiving gifts directly from their idols at the Fanzone area – a first at an Offline event of PUBG Mobile Vietnam.

PUBG Mobile fans also had the opportunity to showcase their skills by participating in showmatches alongside event guests. With a large number of registrations and fiery commentary from the casters, a mini Esports space emerged at the Frost Festival – Break Your Ice, attracting many young attendees at the Thanh Nien Cultural Center at that moment. This was one of the most enthusiastically received activities at the event, providing a platform for fans to demonstrate their abilities and interact with their idols.

It can be said that VNGGames successfully brought a world of PUBG Mobile from in-game to real life through the Frost Festival – Break Your Ice. This event is also the themed event in the 3.5 update version of PUBG Mobile, lasting until January 7, 2025. Fans have experienced frigid battlefields, conquered the Ice Dragon, and collected premium items in the new mode, Great Ice Desert. Additionally, at the end of 2024, PUBG Mobile will have a secret gift for fans to welcome a new year filled with joy and positivity.
The Frost Festival – Break Your Ice is also one of the activities concluding the series of offline events of PUBG Mobile Vietnam in 2024. This perfect ending serves as motivation for VNGGames to continue striving to create exciting Esports playgrounds for players and is a stepping stone to further develop the esports market in Vietnam, bringing the best athletes and teams to international arenas, while seeking opportunities to bring the most exciting esports tournaments to Vietnam.
