Chovy and Gen.G Rekindle Disappointing Achievements
As of now, Gen.G has a record of 2 wins – 2 losses in the LCK Regular Seasons 2026 Rounds 1-2. This result is quite surprising, especially since Gen.G completely dominated the domestic league during the LCK Cup 2026. Although Gen.G did not perform well in the First Stand afterward, it did not raise doubts about their strength in the domestic league. However, up to now, this marks the second worst season in Gen.G’s history and in Chovy’s career.

For Gen.G, this is the second time in history since the team changed its name from KsV Esports that they have had such a poor record after the first 2 weeks of the domestic league group stage. The first time was in the 2019 season when Gen.G lost 3 out of their first 4 matches of the Spring split that year. After the group stage ended, the yellow and black team even finished in the lower half of the standings. Moving into the Summer split, they had 2 wins – 2 losses after the first 2 weeks of the group stage but improved their position slightly.

For Chovy, this is his second worst season in his career. The first was in Summer 2021 when Chovy was still with HLE and was nicknamed “the golden spine of the League of Legends community”. At that time, HLE finished the group stage in the lower half, and they could only reach the World Championship thanks to a “wild card”. However, at that World Championship, Chovy could not help HLE go far, and all that remained was a situation where he flashed in place in an unprofessional manner.

But Chovy and Gen.G Can Still Comeback
In reality, with new formats and the fact that Gen.G is only inconsistent rather than completely poor, Chovy and his teammates still have a chance to make a comeback in the near future. However, this entirely depends on the players and coaching staff of Gen.G, as they still have very strong opponents waiting before entering the crucial Road to MSI phase.
