DK Ends Their Streak of Misery Against Gen.G
Perhaps, even the most optimistic DK fans didn’t dare to think their team would secure a victory, let alone a 2-0 win against the reigning LCK champions who had just demolished T1 days prior. However, a “miracle” happened as DK achieved a decisive 2-0 victory over Gen.G in an explosive day. They even dominated the game, thus ending 5 years of “pain” whenever the two teams clashed.

Accordingly, DK’s streak of misery began from the 2022 LCK Spring Split – the season right after DK became the runner-up at the 2021 World Championship. It’s safe to say that this season marked the rapid decline of the “team that sells cars”, while it also signaled a power shift as DK no longer reigned on the LCK throne, which now belongs to T1 and subsequently Gen.G.
Of course, this victory only slightly improved DK’s position on the leaderboard, as they had previously been devastated by HLE in their first match of the second week of the 2026 Regular Seasons. However, this win was necessary for DK to boost their morale after a series of disappointing performances.

This is the Gen.G Player Who Has Almost “Disappeared”
It can be said that as the roles of Jungle and Bot Lane become increasingly important, if one of these two positions underperforms, the team will immediately find themselves in danger. However, Canyon did not perform as effectively as Lucid, while Ruler has almost completely “vanished” compared to Smash. The most significant moments he left might only be during the first 15 minutes of game 1, before DK regained control and imposed their dominance.

This is not the first time Ruler’s performance has declined this season; in fact, signs of this began to show in the latter half of the previous season. Moreover, Ruler has yet to overcome the backstage drama. It is likely that these issues will continue to affect Ruler and Gen.G in the upcoming matches.
