Faker Comments on T1’s New Bot Lane
In the late 2025 transfer window, T1 parted ways with Gumayusi and welcomed Peyz. Initially, this highly scrutinized deal was seen as a “steal” for T1 as the team consistently achieved good results, especially defeating Gumayusi’s HLE at the KeSPA Cup. However, issues quickly surfaced when the LCK Cup 2026 began, and after T1’s defeat, all factors including Peyz himself became topics of discussion. Recently, Faker had to admit: “The new bot lane needs more time.”
Specifically, Faker stated: “We have been working hard to improve coordination throughout the recent LCK Cup with the new member (Peyz). However, the whole team still feels there are many things we need to work on further. Therefore, we will strive and perform our best in the remaining part of this season.”
The Bot Lane May Be a Weak Point for T1
Besides factors like strong opponents and bans, the performance of T1’s bot lane in the recent LCK Cup matches is also a significant factor, directly affecting the results of the reigning World Champion. The reality is that Peyz has not been able to play independently and, for various reasons, has inadvertently diminished Keria’s ability to roam, gank, or play more proactively.
Not to mention, even with Keria by his side, Peyz doesn’t always win against opponents during the laning phase, which is the most detrimental aspect. T1 remains a strong team with players who have been playing together for many years (excluding Peyz). However, as the AD carry position becomes increasingly challenging, Peyz has yet to meet expectations, and this is the most crucial aspect that T1 needs to address in the upcoming season.
