Gen.G Superstar Heavily Criticized by LPL
As is known, one of the biggest shocks at First Stand 2026 was Gen.G’s 0-3 defeat to G2. Not only was it a loss, but during that match, there was no sign of effort from the players who were previously regarded as the top contenders for the championship. All 5 players are to blame, but LPL specifically called out Kiin as the one who disappointed and is unworthy of the praise he had received before.

According to an LPL streamer, Kiin is being overrated compared to his actual ability. This person even used a previously made argument to defend Kiin to criticize him: “Kiin’s fans always say he wants to ‘repay the favor’ to the team, which is why he took so long to leave. But TheShy, Xiaohu, and Chovy have all ‘carried the team’ to Worlds. What about Kiin?”.
But Kiin has been the most stable player for Gen.G since joining
In fact, Kiin is one of the most stable players on Gen.G. He is not the explosive type of player like Zeus or Bin, but he ensures that his Top Lane is a safe area, ready for any gank situation from Canyon if the other positions happen to be at a disadvantage against the opponents. However, the focus of Gen.G has always been on Chovy and Ruler (previously Peyz), so Kiin’s contributions have been more silent.

If calling Kiin overrated is truly unfair to the superstar of Gen.G. But at present, it is clear that Kiin is not the type of superstar who can always create a game-changing moment. With champions like K’Sante or Rumble, he could be extremely strong. But in cases where he is under too much pressure, or all 4 teammates are underperforming, Kiin himself does not create enough explosive moments to lift the entire team, and that is a sad truth for this player.
