Former World Champion Accidentally Involved in Both “Match-Fixing” Scandals Shaking the LPL
As is known, just a few days ago, the League of Legends community was stirred by the case of Naiyou – the Jungle player from Top Esports suspected of match-fixing. According to the revelation from Coach Poppy – the head coach of TES, Naiyou later admitted to his actions. This incident continues to be a situation that could garner negative reactions from fans towards China’s League of Legends. In the ongoing debates since then, Doinb – the former World Champion of 2019 has unexpectedly been “named.”

The reason turns out to be extremely simple, as he is a former teammate of two players involved in the two largest match-fixing scandals in the LPL in recent years. And coincidentally, he played with them right at the moments they made their LPL debuts or started to build their reputations. Specifically, the first case is Bo, who was promoted to replace Tian in the FPX lineup in 2021. The incident with Bo later forced Tian to return to play and led to conflicts with Doinb himself.

Recently, it was Naiyou’s turn, who at the time he began to stand out was also a teammate of Doinb. Specifically, both had fought alongside each other for a short time under the NIP banner before Doinb temporarily stopped competing, while Naiyou later moved to TES and this incident exploded. In fact, Naiyou debuted under the Rare Atom banner but was later relegated to the LDL. Therefore, in some ways, Naiyou’s LPL career only truly began when he donned the NIP jersey.

The former World Champion Doinb Had Also Warned About Using Young Players
Both Bo and Naiyou share the commonality of being very young players who have already “tarnished” and self-destructed their careers. Doinb himself has also voiced his opposition to the excessive use of young players when stating: “They can completely become key figures in match-fixing scandals.” And until now, Doinb’s somewhat biased opinion still holds true.

Of course, not every young player goes astray. But the LPL is a region full of drama and is most notorious for match-fixing cases. If young players have not been sufficiently tempered, it is very easy for them to get mired in such situations, as what they may receive could be greater than playing honestly.
