LCK’s Legendary Stars Praise Gumayusi
Just a few hours left, the LCK Cup will officially return for the new 2026 season, accompanied by changes that promise to shake the professional League of Legends community in the Land of the Morning Calm. Of course, the teams have also gone through a tumultuous transfer season, and one of the most anticipated names is none other than Gumayusi. Recently, the legendary LCK duo, Peanut and BeryL, who have temporarily “laid down their swords” after the 2025 season, have also sent their praises to the younger player.

Accordingly, while streaming together, Peanut commented on Gumayusi: “I think Gumayusi leans more towards an aggressive playstyle rather than a defensive one, right? But since he has been playing for T1 for a while now, shouldn’t those two (Kanavi, Gumayusi) actually be a great match together?”.
BeryL also admitted that Gumayusi would be an absolutely safe reliance for HLE: “Honestly, during times when their whole team (T1) is ‘performing tricks’ in the jungle, isn’t the only support truly the AD carry? It’s Gumayusi, right? He’ll play champions like Varus, extremely stable, keeping his life while still ‘firing up’. In a way, he is the absolute safety net for the whole team.”

Gumayusi will be the most exceptional case in HLE’s history
Because he will be the first player to join HLE, including the time they were still named ROX Tigers, as the champion and FMVP of Worlds. The expectations are understandable, but with what he has shown in the past, Gumayusi has somewhat earned the trust of his seniors.

Nevertheless, the opening match of the LCK Cup 2026 against T1 will be a measure of Gumayusi’s determination, HLE’s resolve, and especially Gumayusi’s first proof, as he no longer has Oner, Faker, or Keria by his side.
