Faker Points Out T1’s Strongest Roster

In the world of League of Legends, the ZOFGK roster of T1 is perhaps the most unique. The players did not debut at the same time but emerged during a chaotic phase for the team (LCK Summer 2021). However, ZOFGK is also the only roster in League of Legends history to win at two consecutive World Championships without any personnel changes before successfully defending their title.

ZOFGK may be the most special roster in League of Legends history.

However, according to Faker’s comments after the recent LCK Awards 2024 ceremony, the reality is that the rosters of 2023 and 2024 are not the strongest. Faker stated: “Even though we were lucky to win titles this year, I believe 2023 was when we reached our best state. Overall, the team hasn’t reached the competitive level we expected this year.”

Faker’s assessment also received overwhelming agreement from other T1 members including Gumayusi and Oner. Keria, the Support born in 2004, believes that 2023 was the best year for the ZOFGK roster, as well as the year where their championship advantage was most evident.

Faker’s Assessment is Justified

In both Spring and Summer, T1 exhibited nearly absolute dominance.

The T1 roster of 2022 was indeed very strong but left many regrets.

The only issue was that T1 during that period always lacked a decisive factor akin to “timing, location, and harmony” to claim the championship. Ultimately, what they achieved throughout 2022 was only a Spring Split title. After that, T1 finished second in all remaining tournaments they participated in that year.

The 2023 – 2024 period can be said to have returned to T1 “both capital and interest.” With the recent transfer market fluctuations, fans are eagerly awaiting to see how T1’s new roster will perform in the upcoming season.
