Just a few hours after a Vietnamese player spoke out about the inflated skin prices on the League of Legends Vietnam server, another League of Legends player from the Philippines server took to Reddit to “expose” publisher Garena.
According to this player, Garena’s parent company is currently facing losses, leading the publisher to intensify its “bloodsucking” of gamers to compensate for that money:

“Garena’s parent company lost $1.46 billion in 2019. They are currently removing some features from the game quietly in an effort to save costs. Last week, they removed the game replay function. The month before that, the web match history was deleted. And last year, they terminated the Riot API and stopped players’ access to OP.GG.

I come from the Philippines server.
When we try to use the replay loading feature, it just keeps spinning like this:

One of my favorite features was the web match history, but they removed it last month, and now it looks like this:

There is a link to the forums, but when you click on it, you get:

OP.GG’s announcement regarding Garena:

They also bring players small lottery-style events designed to siphon money from our wallets. For example, this event:

Garena’s customer service team seems non-existent. Their email and phone number don’t work. They only interact on Facebook, but when you mention issues, you will never receive a response. As a League of Legends player from Southeast Asia, what is happening is really disheartening.”
The fact that some features of League of Legends are currently “unavailable” is true; however, the information regarding the losses of Garena’s parent company – SEA Group – has not been verified. Therefore, there is no basis to assert that the reduction of certain features and the promotional lottery events in League of Legends are related to this issue. Thus, the information shared by the aforementioned player is merely for reference.

In reality, in recent times, Garena’s series of events have frequently faced many conflicting opinions; however, these events simply aim to encourage players to top up their accounts and do not show any excessive “bloodsucking” behavior.
