In just a short time with minor adjustments in the top lane, the champions Garen and Darius suddenly became unbelievably strong. You can find the details HERE. Just as we predicted, when these two champions suddenly became exceptionally strong, Riot Games will again proceed to directly reduce their power. However, external factors such as Doran’s Shield being strong, and Turret Shields benefiting melee champions… remain untouched.

Not only Garen and Darius, but Riot is also struggling to balance Senna, Aphelios, and even Shaco. Perhaps since their appearance, these two new ADCs in League of Legends have not received any love and have only been nerfed. Information about patch 10.6 was shared by Riot’s Mark Yetter:

A piece of good news for top lane players is that the Teleport spell will be buffed for this position. It is very likely that Riot’s previous promises will come true, as they once mentioned that the cooldown of Teleport might be reduced in proportion to the amount of defensive stats (armor/magic resist) the champion possesses. Additionally, the Death’s Dance is getting reworked; in the PBE server tests, this item will now build from the Legionary Shield and gain extra defensive stats.

The last name on the list of changes is the nerf to the “funnel” strategy, exemplified by the duo of Master Yi – Taric. The issue with this playstyle is that Taric becomes too strong and hard to kill with very few items, not that Master Yi can be strong early or not. Hopefully, Riot will recognize what needs to be nerfed to eliminate this playstyle.

As for the nerfs, many people’s feelings might be “ah sh*t, here we go again” with Senna and Aphelios facing another round of nerfs. After Aphelios had his attack range on marked targets reduced and the damage and range of Guiding Light nerfed multiple times, one wonders what else can be nerfed for him. Meanwhile, Senna is being tested with a reduction in attack damage gained per soul on the PBE server.

The unfortunate next two names are Garen and Darius, two faces that are not surprising since both champions have an extremely “over-the-top” win rate in the top lane. As for Shaco, this joker is still an incredibly strong and annoying Support; there may be no champion that can initiate a fight, protect teammates, and escape well with just one skill, which is the Jack in the Box.

The list of buffs is longer, but there is really nothing too noteworthy; they fall into three categories: outdated mages, neglected fighters, or champions that cannot compete for solo queue spots. It’s uncertain whether buffing the three jungle champions Kayn, Hecarim, and Kindred will improve the situation of the “playable” champion pool in this position that is currently too limited.

Regarding other changes, we have two updates to the ranked system to balance the number of “auto-filled” players in a match, as well as balance the number of games with two duo players together. In summary, this update aims to make ranked play less unfair. Additionally, Wukong is also getting a slight rework in patch 10.6.

The final part of this update includes six new jungle champions, most of whom are Mages like Brand, Zyra, Morgana, Teemo, alongside two Fighters being pushed out of top lane, Shen and Yorick, who are also making their way into the jungle in the upcoming patch.
