Nevertheless, the team’s inherent “clowning” nature remains undiminished as they frequently pick support champions for Wunder in recent matches.
While Soraka top can be justified due to the meta, Wunder’s recent match where he played Janna top is indeed a truly “troll team” choice. After the victory against Fnatic, G2 Esports’ arrogance has skyrocketed, and they even opened a poll on Twitter for fans to vote on which support champion Wunder will take to the top lane. As of now, Zyra is leading this poll.
To be fair, Wunder’s Janna in the match against Fnatic did not showcase much, as G2 Esports was completely suppressed in the first 27 minutes of the game. The turning point only came when Jankos made an outstanding Baron steal, helping this “international circus” pull off a spectacular comeback.
Remember just a few weeks ago, G2 Esports’ excessive joking led to defeats in both matches against Misfits and Schalke 04, making the championship race much more unpredictable than usual. Hopefully, the aforementioned “arrogance” of this team is just social media banter, as professional play cannot be taken lightly.
