Tyler1 has long been a well-known streamer, with the most notable aspect of his personality being his unfiltered emotions and words. He has often harshly criticized Riot Games, even going as far as to “curse” them for how they develop League of Legends without any regard, despite the risk of being banned at any moment. In fact, he has been banned before but was later “pardoned”; however, not much has changed.

Moreover, Tyler1 frequently appears at Riot Games events; many may remember that he was the host at Allstar 2018 and participated in the 2019 All-Star Event. Most recently, he even dressed up as Draven, his favorite champion, right on the LCS stage.

Although he is currently seen as a “familiar face” at Riot, Tyler1 still isn’t shy about telling his audience that the Riot employees aren’t accomplishing anything and are just playing around, which is why League of Legends is in such a disarray now.
Tyler1: “Listen, my girlfriend and I just took a tour around the Riot Games headquarters. Let me tell you, I completely understand why League of Legends is such a disgraceful mess now. I see why they haven’t completed anything.”
“First off, they have a separate area where employees can enjoy buffet breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. And it’s huge, with a different dish cooked by an international chef every day. Then they have arcade machines in the office, three basketball courts, and even bikes to ride around the headquarters.”
“This is insane; their headquarters is like a playground or amusement park, and that is the issue. These employees are playing too much and not getting anything done; this is definitely a dream job, I’m telling you.”

Although Tyler1’s comments may be hard to hear, his straightforward nature leads us to believe that what he says is true. It’s no coincidence that recent promises or projects from Riot Games have been moving at a snail’s pace. Even a small project like adjusting Wukong had to go through three senior designers at Riot Games before it was completed and launched in patch 10.6, despite information about reworking this monkey being available since last October.

While Riot Games’ approach may be to provide their employees with the most relaxed atmosphere to work effectively, this must be accompanied by the effectiveness reflected in the quality of League of Legends. Recently, the game has had many bugs, both minor and major, from the client to in-game issues, which has genuinely frustrated gamers. It’s time for Riot Games employees to tone down their comfort and serve the players, their direct customers, better.
