A few hours ago, Riot August (the person responsible for reworking Wukong) posted the final information that will be applied to this champion in the upcoming patch 10.6. Regarding damage and durability stats, there isn’t much difference from the previous update; you can check it out HERE, the upgrade only lies in the passive that increases armor and health regeneration each time Wukong attacks an enemy will stack faster.

Riot August: “Below are the biggest updates compared to the previous post:
W – Warding Monkey will have increased dash distance but can no longer dash through walls.
E – Nimbus Strike will have an increased attack speed.
Energy cost reduced, passive will stack easier.
Future updates will be included in patch 10.7 if this champion needs a buff/nerf.”
Right after Riot August posted these updates, the community expressed immense outrage over what Riot Games has done to Wukong. A simple logic is that an ordinary monkey can jump over a thin wall, yet Wukong, built from the image of “Sun Wukong”, cannot dash through walls, which is simply unreasonable.

HaRAMbe (the one-champ Wukong player in North America): Only at Riot Games can they make a monkey character that can’t jump over walls, not even the smallest ones, truly disappointing. I hope you will wake up and realize that removing it is my opinion. At least restore the ability to become invisible for 1.5 seconds and reduce the cooldown of the clone.

Cowsep: R.I.P Wallkong (referring to Wukong’s ability to jump over walls).
So Akali can dash over walls three times but Wukong can’t even do it once?
Moreover, Kayn can go through walls, his Q is a skill that dashes through walls, and essentially he can use his R to dash through walls too.

With countless champions able to dash through walls, but Riot has not granted Wukong this ability, it is truly a joke.
Wukong can’t go through walls? Are you guys kidding me? That wall is practically a MONKEY.
Please let that W ability go through walls.

So Wukong is simply a tank version of Shaco.
“But can’t go through walls” LMAO (with a gif of 200+ game design experience, a meme about Riot’s game design).
In a world where Talon exists, Wukong can’t jump over walls.

I truly don’t understand why Riot Games removed Wukong’s ability to dash through walls when this effect still existed in the previous update. League of Legends currently has too many champions that can actively traverse walls, especially in the jungle role, so Wukong dashing 250-300 distance through walls is not anything special at all.

Remember that Riot’s criteria for reworking Wukong was to increase this champion’s ability to deceive opponents, but with the invisibility reduced to only 1 second and no ability to dash through walls, opponents can easily locate Wukong during pursuits. This means the original goal that Riot set for this update has failed.

Indeed, Wukong’s E – Nimbus Strike can go over walls, but it is too passive and requires you to have vision and the enemy close on the other side of the wall. With this update, it can be said that the new Wukong is not significantly different from the current one; the only unique ability has been removed. Truly, Wukong in League of Legends, when compared to other “Great Saints” from other games, is just like a small monkey.
