There is a famous legend about Tyler1 that if for any reason he cannot play Draven ADC, he will immediately ruin the game. This is what led to Tyler1 being banned by Riot Games from playing League of Legends for quite a long time. Even after his ban was lifted, Tyler1 continued to play ADC, the only difference being that he might not play Draven and use other champions instead.

However, the meta is always changing, and the impact on the game of each position also changes accordingly. With a strong personality like Tyler1, he always wants to be the center of the game, which is why he switched to jungle when Season 10 began. Betting with Nightblue3 (another jungle streamer) is one thing, but what Tyler1 understands is that ADCs currently have too little impact and are extremely boring to play.
Tyler1: “Honestly, this ADC position is getting worse and worse. Listen up, guys, stop playing this, just don’t play ADC anymore, I repeat, never touch ADC again. Instead, play this (pointing at Darius who is wrecking the enemy team), it looks fun. I played this game like a potato, but luckily our jungle was better than theirs, so we won, awesome!”.

League of Legends is currently very different from Seasons 3 and 4, when ADCs and Mages were almost the two main damage-dealing roles of the team. Fighters and Assassins back then were too easy to kite and fell behind in the later stages since they didn’t have the damage and mobility that are “crazy” like now. Therefore, when you played ADC, you held the team’s power towards the end of the game, determining the outcome yourself.
Now, things have changed a lot. In a meta where Mages in the bot lane are a strong choice, ADCs have very little impact on the game, sometimes even being outperformed by Supports. With Riot Games’ updates, almost all champions can deal good damage now, from tanks to supports (Pyke, if you remember).

Therefore, winning has become much more complex; you need to secure objectives and pressure the map well, not just farm and win anymore. ADCs cannot risk controlling vision, while other positions like Jungle, Support, or Mid can; thus, the focus of gameplay will no longer revolve around ADCs. No matter how strong you are, if you have a weak jungler on your team leading to being pressured on the map, you will still lose.

Perhaps the era of super ADCs carrying the team alone is over; the real victors mostly lie in the jungle and mid lane. ADC players should find ways to adapt to the current situation, like playing new champions (Syndra, Cassiopeia in the bot lane, for example), trying new positions (Kalista, Lucian top like The Shy)… instead of clinging to outdated mindsets.
