In Gangseo District of Seoul, South Korea, a new name has recently appeared on the charity honor board: Progamer T1 – “Faker” Lee Sang-Hyeok.
The name of this legendary player has been engraved on the wall of fame in Gangseo District (which is also where Faker’s family resides) after his significant contributions to charity, support, and donations in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic in the region.

The wall honors those who have contributed to charitable efforts in Gangseo District:
“To commemorate the noble actions of those who participated in donations and sharing, we dedicate this place to express our deep respect and gratitude.
I will always remember your beautiful name, what you have brought to Gangseo, and your warm heart forever.”
It is known that earlier on March 5, Faker donated 30 million won (approximately 579 million VND) to community and health organizations to support the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic in South Korea. In fact, this information was kept completely confidential, and the 1996-born player only officially announced his charitable act on March 9, under the direction of his organization T1.
With directives from the team management, Faker became the face of a fundraising campaign through streaming for pandemic prevention efforts. Thanks to Faker’s call, T1’s streams received a significant amount of donations, resulting in a total of 34 million won (about 680 million VND) raised in just one week.

This is not the first time Faker has been honored for his noble deeds. However, what is even more noteworthy, according to South Korean media reports, is that all of his charitable acts have been carried out quietly, not representing T1 but in his personal capacity. Only Faker’s father – his financial manager, is aware of these details.
The announcement of the 30 million won donation was a rare occasion for Faker to share about his charitable work, as he believes this move is necessary to encourage the people of South Korea to join hands in combating the pandemic.
