In the latest messages from the League of Legends development team, most Riot Games employees have identified that they have been working from home for the past few weeks due to the complex developments of Covid-19 in the United States. Naturally, in a completely different working environment, from home to the office, the game designers at Riot have also come up with some very bizarre ideas, even accommodating requests from gamers online.

Recently, Riot August, a senior member of the League of Legends design team, fulfilled a request from a Zyra-loving player who wanted his favorite champion to be buffed. Specifically, the player sent a message on Twitter to Riot August asking if he could make Zyra summon Nautilus instead of plants, which would make her more “balanced”. Of course, the Riot employee agreed.

Jonny Esports sent a message to Riot August: “Hey August, can you make Zyra’s ultimate turn the plants into Nautilus? I think that would balance her out.”
Riot August: “Be careful what you wish for, my friend. Zyra is about to get a new skin, so this is a buff I suggest.”

For those who don’t know, on the PBE server, Zyra has a new skin called Coven Zyra along with a prestige version. With the tradition of champions getting buffs before a skin release, Riot Games does not exclude this possibility in version 10.8, the time when those skins go on sale, so it’s likely that Zyra will be buffed to sell more prestige skins.

However, let’s hope she won’t be so overpowered that she summons multiple Abyssal Giants like what Riot August created above. It’s true that staying home to avoid the pandemic has led Riot employees to come up with many interesting ideas, from turning Volibear into Annie’s pet, transforming Wukong’s clone into Nautilus, to the super overpowered transformation mentioned above.
