Just a few moments ago, the League of Legends community around the world received a rather surprising “gift” as Riot Games announced on their homepage information about a new champion named Pingu on April 1st:

Like any other champion, Pingu also has his skill set introduced by Riot Games right on the homepage:
Passive: Bird is the word
All types of damage, from physical to magical, in nature are transferred to Pingu’s home planet and sent back to Runeterra. This turns all physical damage into magical damage, and all magical damage into physical damage until… it gets boring.
Q Ability: Splish – Splash
Pingu frolics in a small pool with an unbelievably adorable appearance. He makes nearby enemies realize he is a cute little thing and stuns them for 2 seconds.
W Ability: Icy Emprisontment
Pingu uses his extraordinary power to attack 3 enemies in a cone with massive ice blocks. If this ability takes down an enemy, Pingu will roll on the ground and laugh in the face of the enemy. When the ice blocks hit enemies marked with “Titanic Mark,” they will drown and Celine Dion’s voice will echo.
E Ability: Voidpoke/Titanic Mark
Pingu vanishes in a puddle of ice water in 0.5 seconds and unexpectedly appears next to a random enemy on the map. If Pingu finds an enemy not marked with “Titanic Mark,” he can reactivate this ability and mark the enemy with “Titanic Mark” for 10 seconds. The ability is refreshed if it hits an enemy marked with “Titanic Mark.”
R Ability: Blizzard of Doom
Pingu focuses on using the ability for 2 seconds, detecting all enemies marked with “Titanic Mark.” Immediately after, Pingu wildly claps, causing all enemies marked with “Titanic Mark” to explode in a bloody snowstorm of flesh and bones.
If Pingu wipes out the enemy team with this ability, he will don a pair of “thug life” glasses that look extremely cool.

At this point, the community realized that the image of the champion circulated the day before was not Aidyn at all, but rather Pingu’s helmet and weapon.

The story of Pingu: Some survivors have recounted the terrifying creature of this planet. Wherever Pingu appears, he leaves behind a trail of destruction and devastation at a level that only he can cause.
Valorant scientists have come to the conclusion: Pingu is not a creature from this planet and has been trapped in ice for centuries in Freljord.
So who is Pingu?
The origin of this killer’s name has yet to be verified. However, there are some events that occurred, and many people refer to Pingu as having crossed into Runeterra through the Void. After being imprisoned for over 1000 years, Pingu has taken on the role of enforcer of justice at the Fields of Justice. When Noxus and Ionia spoke out about this, Pingu became furious and flattened several villages.
How Pingu escaped the eternal glacier of Freljord remains a mystery. Ashe – the Queen of Freljord calls on her subjects to be vigilant against this creature, suggesting that he may have accomplices.
No one knows where Pingu is or where he will appear. But many warriors are gathering to discuss how to confront the common enemy of Runeterra. The most brilliant inventors of Piltover are focused on researching a weapon that can defeat Pingu. Others are seeking ways to imprison Pingu in the very glacier he escaped from.
