The trio of Dark Fairy skins (excluding Prestige Edition) for champions Morgana, Zyra, and LeBlanc, recently released, has received tremendous praise from the gaming community.
Not only do they feature eye-catching skill effects, but each skin also easily wins over League of Legends fans at first glance with a series of extremely stunning splash arts.

However, few know that the Dark Fairy skin line was once “disparaged” by Riot Games, considered a throwaway work, to the point that its creator – former League of Legends skin design lead Stellari – had to leave in frustration despite having spent 6 years with the game.
The story may have begun before the first Dark Fairy skins for Lissandra and Camille were born, but the secrets about Stellari’s departure were only recently revealed when she expressed immense happiness seeing her beloved creations continue to be developed and launched to the global player base.
Sharing on Twitter, she stated:

“I haven’t been involved in League of Legends skin design for over 9 months now, and I don’t care about it anymore. But I was really happy to see the Dark Fairies again. I knew they (the Dark Fairy skin line) were being developed, just couldn’t imagine what they would look like. I had to endure a lot of bitterness and humiliation trying to create the first Dark Fairy skins (Camille and Lissandra), but my team always believed in it, even though some other jerks did not. Sending a thousand hearts to my former teammates!”
Stellari also mentioned that some colleagues, specifically her superiors while working at Riot, expressed a lack of faith in the potential success of the Dark Fairy skin line and intended to cancel the project.

That is why shortly after the first two Dark Fairy skins were launched, Stellari decided to leave Riot Games after 6 years to start her own fashion brand. Initially, colleagues believed that the business venture was the reason for her departure from League of Legends, but now it has been clarified that Stellari left Riot due to a lack of respect from some other staff members.
Anyway, that is a story of the past; currently, it seems that Stellari’s wishes have been inherited by the next generation of League of Legends skin designers, and the Dark Fairy skin line – her spiritual child – has developed into its own universe, a beautiful conclusion to the unfinished romance between League of Legends and this beautiful former Rioter.
