The match between T1 and Griffin in the 7th week of the LCK Spring 2020 group stage ended with a victory for the reigning champions. Alongside the dramatic developments, this also marked a new record set by Faker – the player who made himself the center of attention with his “comedic” plays in this match.
Specifically, by stepping onto the official lineup of T1 yesterday, Faker officially reached the milestone of 545 games in the LCK, spanning from 2013 to now, thus becoming the player with the most games played in the history of the professional League of Legends tournament in Korea.

The previous record holder for the most games played in the LCK was Score – the former captain of KT Rolster, with 544 games, dating back to 2012 while playing for StarTale, and later for KT Rolster.
An interesting piece of information is that Score started his career at StarTale by replacing… kkOma, who later became the legendary head coach of SKT T1. As we know, Score officially retired after the 2019 season, while Faker’s career is set to continue at least until 2024, so the record streak of the Demon King is sure to extend further, and it may be hard for anyone to break this achievement.

It can be said that, although not often mentioned, the number 545 games in the LCK certainly holds a lot of significance for Faker and his fans. In addition to congratulating their idol on reaching this historic milestone, many gamers also express their regret upon realizing that Faker has been competing professionally for quite a while now, time flies like the wind, and it is hard to imagine a future moment when Faker announces his retirement; that would be a tremendous loss for the professional League of Legends scene.
