After finishing the match against SANDBOX Gaming, T1 is almost no longer worried about securing a playoff spot; instead, their current goal is to compete for the top position in the standings. The performance of Faker and his teammates so far this season can be described as unexpectedly successful.
With a young team that lacks much competitive experience, they have defeated many strong teams in the LCK to maintain their position at the top. In an interview after yesterday’s match, the head coach of the team – Kim “Kim” Jeong-soo shared some interesting insights about their current situation.

Regarding Faker, Coach Kim once asserted that this guy is one of the best students he has ever coached. Of course, taking the place of kkOma – who was both a mentor and a close brother to Faker, is not a story that can be resolved in a day. From Coach Kim’s sharing, it is clear that Faker still feels a bit hesitant in front of his new coach, but above all, he demonstrates a professional demeanor by fully meeting the technical requirements set by the coach, with the diligence and seriousness that he is known for.
“He always does his job well, so basically, I don’t have many issues to discuss with Faker. I expect more that he will be more sociable with the younger players in the team, because in real life, he is quite reserved and cautious.”

Additionally, T1’s head coach also shared his thoughts on the rookies of T1. Canna and Ellim have delivered excellent performances when given the opportunity to play. But when discussing another potential trainee – marksman Gumayushi, Kim was quite decisive when sharing about this young talent’s chances of appearing:
“Gumayushi is very good, but Teddy is even better. It’s as simple as that. Honestly, you won’t find any reason to bench Teddy. Even if he plays poorly in one or two matches, Teddy is the kind of player who doesn’t easily fall apart, and that allows him to maintain a stable performance over a long period. Gumayushi is also working hard, and I believe he will perform well if given the chance to play.”

Furthermore, Coach Kim also expressed his gratitude to T1 fans for supporting the team during the recent tough times:
“Even though we have to play online and fans cannot watch the team play live, we have received a lot of supportive messages from fans. I can’t say anything more than thank you all, and I promise that we will try to perform really well in the upcoming matches.”
