It seemed that Optimus leaving the team at the end of the 2019 season would pose a significant challenge to Team Flash’s ambitions for glory. But in the end, the youth of the FL players became the key that propelled them to victory at an unexpected moment.
Saying FL won by luck is only partially true, as the actual strength of each member of their lineup is not far behind the average, if not superior in some positions.

The recent finals witnessed an outstanding performance from the duo Slayder and CBL – the two bottom lane players of Team Flash. However, while Slayder’s brilliance has become a familiar story, the performance of Support CBL truly amazed and excited fans.
Rising from Solo Queue, Combatlao (CBL) is known as a player with extremely high individual skill, and his signature champion Thresh is always a nightmare for any opponent. However, in the past, similar to the stories of solo rank stars venturing into the professional arena, CBL struggled for many seasons to find a position in VCS while playing for teams fighting against relegation like Viking Gaming or Cherry Esports.

However, all of that is now in the past; CBL is now the reigning champion of VCS, and not only that, this player also holds an extremely impressive record in Solo Queue.
According to lol.gamepedia – the professional League of Legends data statistics site, CBL is the first Support player from Vietnam to reach the Challenger rank on the Korean server.
In the past, there have been many Vietnamese League of Legends players who reached the Challenger rank in Korea, and even rose to the top in a short time. Notable names include SofM, Levi, Zeros, Kiaya, Artemis… However, to climb to Challenger as a Support, only CBL has achieved this.

In the recent finals, GAM Esports employed many different strategies to counter Team Flash, but one common point in all 5 games was that they always banned Thresh – the champion that defines CBL.
Clearly, when you play a champion of such caliber that even the strongest opponents must be wary, that says enough about the player’s skill. CBL may not possess an unyielding mentality, but his ability to use champions that create many surprises in the match, along with his individual skills, could easily place him at the top of VCS right now without exaggeration.
