The player preparing to follow in Faker’s footsteps is causing fierce controversy
In 2024, Riot will launch the Hall of Legends mechanism to honor the great players of the League of Legends community. The first inductee, who no one is more deserving than even rival fans must acknowledge, is Faker. However, according to some reports, the one who might follow in the “Demon King”‘s footsteps is the controversial Uzi.

For LPL, Uzi is the “Super Marksman.” Many fans still remember how powerful Uzi’s AD champions could be when given enough resources. However, throughout his career, Uzi has never won a World Championship. More importantly, many believe Uzi is even less deserving than players like Ruler, Gumayusi, or previously Bang and Deft.
The reason stems from the fact that during his peak, Uzi was merely an AD who capitalized on resources supplied by his teammates. But when faced with a strong opponent, or even just evenly matched, Uzi and Royal Never Give Up immediately encountered difficulties. “In LPL, he was beaten by Deft time and again, at Worlds he faced Piglet and then Bang. Even with the most favorable meta and teammates, he couldn’t win a championship, so how could he enter the HoL?”, questioned a fan.

In contrast, players like Bang, Deft, Ruler, and Gumayusi are the types of ADs who can “carry themselves.” The ability of Bang or Ruler to “carry the team” is unquestionable. Gumayusi is still very young but has already shown outstanding talent. Meanwhile, Deft has often defeated Uzi’s RNG with Edward Gaming.
Getting into the HoL like Faker is not easy at all
In every aspect, Uzi has fame and talent. However, the two crucial factors he lacks are titles and professional influence. At RNG before, or even during his time at BLG, Uzi was not a true leader. More importantly, Uzi is not the type of AD who can perform well even when his four teammates are underperforming, at least this factor has been demonstrated throughout most of his career.

In fact, Uzi does not even have a long enough career to establish records or achievements in the history of global League of Legends. Notably, he is even one year younger than Faker, and many players from the 1997 class like him are still competing, while Uzi has essentially closed the chapter on his career long ago.
Perhaps LPL fans will have no questions if Uzi enters the HoL. But for the League of Legends community, this will likely be one of the most contentious names in this Hall of Fame project.
