Facebook Gaming ends contract with ShenLong? As AoE viewers in Vietnam grow increasingly bored with the archery genre.
As we know, ShenLong and Tiểu Thủy Ngư are the first two Chinese AoE players to come to the promised land of Hanoi, dubbed the “capital” of the AoE world. ShenLong’s first step paved the way for other Chinese AoE masters to come to Hanoi.

As a top archery master in Chinese AoE, this player came to Vietnam to pursue his passion and have more opportunities to compete and interact with Vietnamese players, especially Chim Sẻ Đi Nắng. He joined Clan 6699 in an undisclosed contract, but both Clan 6699 and ShenLong aimed towards Facebook Gaming. ShenLong becoming an official partner of Facebook Gaming provided both him and Clan 6699 with a stable income to sustain his passion and career as a gamer.
To secure good treatment from Facebook Gaming, ShenLong needed a large and stable viewership. However, the issue became problematic as Chinese players, including ShenLong, rarely played Random matches, partly due to skill level concerns and partly because they were accustomed to archery matches. Although ShenLong is the best Random player among Chinese gamers, maintaining a series of attractive Random matches to draw a large audience is not easy.
As archery matches garnered fewer viewers, Vietnamese audiences began to favor Random over archery. With strict regulations regarding play hours and the number of viewers for gamers partnered with Facebook Gaming, it seems ShenLong can no longer maintain those metrics with Facebook Gaming.

During this difficult time, coupled with the fact that ShenLong could not come to Vietnam due to the tense Covid-19 situation, which affected his livestreaming and viewer engagement on Facebook, it finally happened: yesterday, on ShenLong’s official Fanpage, he announced that he would end his contract with Facebook Gaming. This immediately drew the attention of AoE fans in Vietnam, raising the question of whether ShenLong would continue to pursue his passion and career as an AoE gamer in Vietnam.

Continuing to pursue his passion for AoE in Vietnam, ShenLong will livestream on a new platform.
This is what a representative from Clan 6699, ShenLong’s management company, told the press. In a quick exchange with Mr. Nguyễn Đức Thịnh – the manager of Clan 6699, he confirmed: “It is well known that ShenLong has not come to Vietnam recently due to the pandemic. As for parting ways with Facebook Gaming, it simply means we have other, more suitable options. And these two matters are completely unrelated.”

Specifically, ShenLong will return to Vietnam in the coming days to continue pursuing his passion and career as an AoE gamer under Clan 6699. Immediately after ending his contract with Facebook Gaming on May 1, ShenLong will switch to livestreaming on another platform, NimoTV. This is considered a correct and suitable direction for Clan 6699 and ShenLong himself, as the number of viewers following and supporting him on NimoTV will primarily come from his loyal fans in China.

Hopefully, AoE audiences in China and especially fans of AoE Vietnam will continue to support ShenLong on his next journey, allowing him to confidently pursue his passion and deliver the most exciting AoE matches to his fans.
