Former World Champion Exposes a “Critical” Weakness
In the 2025 season, TheShy and Rookie have surprisingly reunited under the banner of Invictus Gaming. Along with several other superstars, IG is regarded as a “super team” and can even compete for the LPL championship as well as international tournaments like MSI and Worlds. However, as of now, IG is struggling in the LPL, and people have discovered that the inherent weakness of the former World Champion still persists.

According to some LPL viewers, TheShy still cannot speak Chinese fluently despite having lived and competed in the country for nearly 10 years. Even though TheShy once claimed the World Championship title and is regarded as a “Top God,” his communication with local teammates remains quite challenging.
Compared to a Korean import who is also a close teammate of TheShy, Rookie, TheShy’s Chinese proficiency is significantly worse than that of his counterpart.

LPL Viewers Debate the Weakness of the Former World Champion
On Chinese League of Legends forums, many viewers are debating this issue. If TheShy were an ordinary foreign player, he would likely face a barrage of criticism. However, since he is a “Top God,” the reactions are somewhat more lenient. In fact, quite a few LPL viewers have expressed their support for TheShy.
“I think this should be a challenge, and IG needs to support him. We should be more observant than critical,” one opinion stated. Another viewer mentioned on Weibo: “I’m genuinely concerned about this issue, but hasn’t TheShy already won Worlds with this weakness?”.

In reality, no one can be certain if the teams will arrange support for TheShy in terms of communication. However, the fact that he has been in the LPL for nearly a decade without resolving this weakness suggests that the issue largely lies with the player who once led IG to the World Championship, rather than the team itself.
