Ranking up is something every gamer, from beginners to professionals, does when playing League of Legends (LoL). VCS players even travel to the Korean server to practice and hone their skills. However, it is quite rare for a Vietnamese player to reach the top 5 or top 10 Challenger in other servers; perhaps only talents like SofM can achieve this.

However, in the European server rankings, we suddenly see a name that is uniquely Vietnamese and familiar: “Sap len rank mot,” which is quite surprising. According to our research, this player goes by the nickname Rueven and is currently a full-time streamer with Mousesports.
Examining the match history of this account, we can see that he is a genuine “onechamp” Riven, having played 400 matches with this champion and boasting an impressive win rate of 58%, despite this not being a meta champion and his opponents being Challenger and Grandmaster players.

A unique aspect of his Riven gameplay is his heavy focus on cooldown reduction, using both the Cosmic Insight rune and small runes for a maximum of 10% cooldown reduction rather than emphasizing damage. His item build also follows this principle, with Black Cleaver and Guardian Angel as his core items, differing significantly from the lethality builds commonly used by many players.

Another unique aspect of Rueven’s rune setup is that he takes the Legend: Attack Speed rune to enable smoother auto-attacks whenever he uses abilities. New players who are not used to weaving in auto-attacks while using abilities often miss out on significant damage; a little attack speed from this rune makes Riven’s damage output much stronger.
Indeed, only master Riven players like Rueven can find such unique ways to address the champion’s weaknesses. Currently, Rueven stands at 1423 Challenger points, about 250 points away from the top position. We wish this talented Vietnamese player a smooth ranking journey as he strives for the top of the European server. You can follow his journey to rank 1 at twitch.tv/rueven.
