Kayle – Chrono
True to its name, this composition uses a very simple principle to win: buffing Kayle to be as strong as possible and “fanning the flames” of the enemy team. Normally, compositions that rely entirely on one unit don’t become overly dominant, but Kayle is different; the strength of this celestial being is simply overwhelming. You just need to gather 4 Chrono for her to have enough attack speed, 2 Cosmos for additional lifesteal, and 3 Blademasters to amplify damage, and that’s enough to win.

Due to Kayle’s somewhat “illogical” power, not only was this champion herself affected, but also units like Kai’Sa and Miss Fortune were removed from the game. To replace Kayle, Riot decided to add Riven, also with the Blademaster trait, priced at 4 gold. However, the ability to fan out damage belongs solely to Kayle.

Brawler – Void
Perhaps from the very first moment of designing champions for Season 3, Riot Games didn’t expect that this playstyle would be as powerful and dominant as it is now. The biggest strength of this composition is that you need very few items while still being on par with other compositions; just 6 random items combined into 3 big items for Vel’Koz is enough, and the Brawler units themselves don’t require too many items.

Moreover, true damage is something that nothing can counter; no matter how many Dragon Claws you have, Vel’Koz with 3 Void units will still wipe out the entire enemy team. Therefore, although this composition is not always tier S (overpowered), the somewhat toxic playstyle of the Void trait will soon lead to these monsters being removed from Teamfight Tactics.

Variants of Sona “the Pump Machine”
First appearing with the “Candyland” composition, Sona “the Pump Machine” of energy and health has made the meta revolve around her for quite some time. With only 40 energy, equipped with items like the Archangel’s Staff and 2 Chalices of Favor, Sona can continuously pump health from her skills and energy from the items. This keeps your team always full of health, mana, and virtually unkillable.

Even after Riot Games nerfed her directly and reduced the power of the Chalice of Favor, Sona continued to dominate, even being used in the Brawler – Void composition to buff Vel’Koz’s energy. Furthermore, her ability to cleanse stuns makes her a nightmare for compositions that rely on crowd control effects.
Therefore, in the upcoming mid-season update, Sona will be completely removed from the game; Riot is even changing the Archangel’s Staff into a Blue Buff to prevent a second Sona from appearing after the update.
