Recently on his personal Twitter, G2 Esports captain Luka “Perkz” Perković posted an announcement that shocked the fan community, revealing that his father passed away on Sunday due to cancer.

“My father passed away from cancer last Sunday.
I will go home to arrange the funeral, then return to LEC this Friday.
The loss is more painful than I can imagine, but I believe that everything will be okay eventually.
Take more time with your parents, because you never know when it will be too late to be with them.”
Unlike Caps, Perkz’s family members rarely appear in the media, and information about his father’s cancer was only recently revealed through the post Perkz shared.

Through rare vlogs or reports, Perkz has also shared that his parents have always supported him quietly in his career as a pro player. This is indeed a significant loss for Perkz personally and for G2 Esports as a whole – a team built on the bond between players like a close family.
On Perkz’s personal Twitter, the international League of Legends community has expressed deep condolences to the Perkz family and hopes he will soon overcome this pain.

Additionally, Perkz mentioned that he will be back in time for the start of the LEC Summer 2020 tournament this Friday, after taking care of the arrangements for his father’s funeral. However, some fans also noted that they wouldn’t mind if Perkz took a break from competition for a while to rest and regain his composure.
In a retweet responding to the League of Legends community, Perkz also shared: “I couldn’t wish for more than to share this, as I have been so lucky to have such wonderful friends and family, thank you all very much.”
