Recently, alongside competing in the LPL, SofM has shown great dedication in try-harding to climb the ranks on the Korean server. In the past few days, SofM’s ranking speed in the Challenger tier has been remarkably fast, and last night, he officially made his way into the top 10 Challenger, although this achievement may not last long.
Specifically, SofM reached his highest position of top 8 Challenger during yesterday’s rank climb and continued to compete for the top 9 position over about 5 ranked matches before… logging off to sleep.

However, as we know, the level of competition at the top of the Challenger rank in Korea is extremely high, so SofM’s position fluctuates significantly after each match. During last night’s rank climb, he continuously “oscillated” between positions 9 and 11 on the leaderboard, peaking at rank 8 Challenger as shown in the image shared on his fanpage.
Yet, just in one night, when SofM temporarily stopped climbing to rest, his position was immediately taken, and as of now, SofM is currently sitting at rank 12 in Korea.
The gaming community believes that if he continues to try-hard like he is now, SofM has more than enough ability to maintain his position in the top 10.

Notably, in the current Korean Challenger leaderboard, the player holding the top 1 position is known as a young talent in the Chinese solo queue, and also a jungle player. Meanwhile, ShowMaker, SofM’s reliable partner in their recent solo/duo rank journey, holds two accounts within the top 10 rank in Korea.
This is not the first time SofM has achieved this feat. In 2016, he also made it into the top 10 Challenger in Korea, and at one point, he was only 300 points behind the number 1 player. However, compared to the past, the Korean server is currently much more brutal, with solo queue stars and foreign players now more diligent in their “study abroad” in Korea, creating an incredibly fierce battlefield in the high ranks of this server.
