Warzone and Ren Hinting at Comeback in Professional League of Legends: Will VCS Welcome Back the ‘Gods’ of the Past?

The return of veterans like Warzone could be a positive signal for VCS, right?

Since retiring, Warzone has often been referred to as a Streamer/Food Blogger in the Vietnamese League of Legends scene. Although he is no longer closely connected to League of Legends and has a stable, low-pressure job, the glorious past of dominating the gaming scene may still leave this former player with many regrets.

“Cụ tổ” hiện tại đang là một Streamer/Food Blogger

This guy has always hinted at not being able to “cut ties” with his player career, as he frequently considers a return. A notable example was when he tried to form a new team in 2019, aiming for VCSB and almost grasping the chance to reach the highest level of domestic League of Legends. As of now, despite being away from professional competition for a long time, he recently made an official announcement on his personal page about returning to VCS in 2020.

However, for the community, Warzone’s frequent comments asking to join teams currently competing in VCS are not surprising. Therefore, regarding his declaration, most followers are skeptical, while a small number view it as a typical joke from the “elders” of the League of Legends scene, who have “retired” but still have the urge to compete and long for the spotlight of the arena.

Nevertheless, the former EVOS player seems to take this seriously; lately, he has continuously mentioned his desire to return to professional play, and he even shared that there is a team willing to pay 100 million for him to join.

Nevertheless, the possibility of this player returning to the roster is quite challenging; taking a long break from competition and age-related issues will pose significant barriers. Perhaps, Warzone would be better suited as a coach.

Besides Warzone, another familiar name in the Vietnamese League of Legends community, Ren, is also hinting at a return to the professional scene. Recently, he has been quite interactive with “Cụ tổ,” leading fans to speculate whether there could be a collaboration between Warzone and Ren in a professional League of Legends team debuting in the future?

“Cụ” và “Ngài” hợp sức thì vô địch hay không chưa dám chắc, nhưng xét về độ gáy và cà khịa thì chắc cả Team Flash cũng phải… dè chừng

Currently, the VCS Summer 2020 is nearing the halfway point, and of course, even if a new team is formed, Warzone will have to wait until the end of the season to participate in the promotion round, or more simply, this Youtuber/streamer could buy the competition slot of another team to return to VCS, similar to what Optimus did with OverPower Esports.

At this moment, as VCS Summer 2020 kicks off in the first thrilling weeks of competition, not only the old teams but also new names are providing exciting matches with high-level expertise for the audience. The current skill level among the teams is quite balanced, and Warzone’s potential entry could bring fresh winds, becoming a pivotal “breakthrough” for this tournament, but above all, it would continue to uphold the tradition of “gáy khét” that has always been.
