Gamers Propose Exciting Idea for Adding Multi-Color Based on Rank and Victorious Skins, League of Legends Community Enthusiastically Responds

Perhaps Riot Games should implement this idea for the next Victorious skin in League of Legends.

Ranked rewards seem to be an essential aspect for League of Legends gamers, and they always look forward to seeing which champion will receive a Victorious skin at the end of the season. In recent years, Riot Games has even added multi-color options for Victorious skins, with the requirement being that players must achieve at least Gold rank in other ranked modes like Flexible Ranked, and previously, there was also a 3v3 mode.

Essentially, the requirement to earn a Victorious skin is considered quite reasonable since reaching Gold rank is sufficient for eligibility. However, for gamers who aren’t too tryhard or aren’t capable of climbing to Challenger, the climb might feel meaningless. The reason lies in the end-of-season rewards, which remain the same; if you grind to Diamond, the reward is still comparable to what a Gold rank player receives.

Thus, a gamer came up with an idea to add special multi-color options like Platinum, Diamond… up to Challenger to enhance interest and give League of Legends players a reason to grind ranks. This idea has received countless praises from the community, and they hope that Riot Games will actually implement it in the game.

What if we had multi-color options for Victorious skins based on rank above Gold?

Climbing ranks above Gold feels quite pointless, and this has been debated before, and here is my solution. I will use Karma’s Dark Star skin as an example; the basic Victorious skin will have its usual color. The subsequent ranks will have different colors. I think the multi-color for Challenger would mix various colors together, but this basic multi-color is already beautiful.

This would give players motivation to climb higher ranks.

Exactly, it’s simply my goal.

Honestly, I like this idea, but I’m not sure if it fits into Riot’s plans.

Currently, creating multi-colors requires quite minimal resources from Riot. Each new skin receives a bunch of multi-color options, ranging from 4 to 8. With 3-4 skins released every two weeks, it’s like having 20 multi-color options appear. Furthermore, they have not seen any profit from Victorious skins, so adding multi-colors wouldn’t have much impact; it would just make the community happier.

But they also make money from multi-colors; the question is whether it’s worth it or not. Just look at how long it has been since they created multi-colors for the Honor reward system. Staff need to be paid to create those things.

And then we have Riot Sirhaian, who frequently creates special effects for free.

I believe that having multi-colors for each rank would encourage people to play the game more. It’s not a direct income generator, but I think more players would aim for Platinum rather than just stopping at Gold IV if they knew there were multi-color rewards. That way, people would play more Riot games, and naturally, they would earn money from that, creating a free product worth developing.

With Riot Games gradually phasing out other ranked modes and the quality of Flexible Ranked being quite poor, it’s understandable that players focus on climbing solo ranks. Perhaps Riot Games should take better care of this quality ranked mode of theirs; adding motivation for gamers through multi-colors based on the aforementioned ranks is a great idea they could implement.
