Although he was once one of the most valuable rookies in the LCS, Huni’s career truly hit a low point when he failed to lead Dignitas to success and had to pack his bags during the summer transfer window.
Huni joined Evil Geniuses and reunited with his former teammate at SKT (T1), but in reality, the two had never played together due to the foreigner restriction rules, which forced Huni to play in the Academy team to make room for Kumo – a top laner from China who had obtained American citizenship.

Only recently, in a match against Cloud9 – the reigning LCS champions, EG unexpectedly made a personnel change, resting Kumo and Jiizuke, and choosing Huni and Goldenglue as replacements. This was also the first time Bang and Huni played together since the 2017 World Championship.
This reunion became even more significant as Huni shone with his top lane Gangplank, helping EG defeat C9, while Bang also had a solid performance, allowing EG fans to relish the joy of victory.
Huni only played alongside Bang for one season in 2017, which also marked the decline of the SKT dynasty as they failed to defend their World Championship title after losing in the finals against Samsung Galaxy in 2017.
Nevertheless, that year’s lineup with Bang and Huni remains one of the best-performing rosters for T1 in the last three years. After Huni’s departure, T1 fell into a deep crisis in the 2018 season, returning strong in 2019 but still unable to reclaim their position on the international stage.

Both Bang and Huni have also not maintained their peak performance, and thus, glory has become increasingly distant for the boys who once wore the SKT jersey. However, the return of Bang and Huni as teammates at EG, and especially this reunion marked by a victory against the ‘big guy’ C9, has made former SKT fans nostalgic and emotional.
With the victory over Cloud9, Bang and Huni’s Evil Geniuses now have 6 wins and 6 losses at this point, temporarily holding the 5th position in the standings and still having a chance to qualify for the playoffs, as well as vying for a spot at the 2020 World Championship. Last year, Huni had the opportunity to reunite with his old team during the group stage of the 2019 World Championship, and now T1 fans are eagerly hoping that Bang and Huni will have the chance to meet Faker again if both teams qualify for this year’s World Championship.
