A few hours ago, Ambition shared stories that have cast the LCS in North America in a negative light among the global League of Legends community. Specifically, during his recent stream, Ambition discussed the “glamorous and lazy” culture of LCS teams:

“Crown once told me that in North America, teams throw parties after every match. Parties! Even if they have to compete the next day, they’ll still have a party tonight, they’ll have dinner together and drink alcohol (beer or wine). And Crown struggled to adapt to that culture. How ridiculous is it to party when you have to compete tomorrow?”

While sharing this story, Ambition emphasized his point by viewing a discussion about SwordArt’s statement on a Korean forum. In that post, SwordArt shared: “In North America, they scrim for 5 matches, then have dinner and call it a day. In Suning, I had to practice for 14 hours a day.”

This somewhat explains why North America, despite being a large region, continues to disappoint in major tournaments like Worlds. Currently, some professional players in the LCS, such as IMT’s Allorim, have defended the LCS, stating that the story may have been misunderstood. However, so far, this story has not been confirmed or denied by representatives of the LCS teams. Nevertheless, if this is true, it certainly poses a significant problem for this region.
