Dragon Tribe
Indeed, the Dragon Tribe of Season 4 is in a rather awkward situation where individual champions are very strong but the tribe’s effect is extremely weak. Champions like Aurelion Sol, Olaf, and Shyvana have more than enough damage to lead you to victory without the need for the Dragon Tribe’s effect. Therefore, in Season 4, players rarely reached the threshold of 6 or 9 Dragon Tribe. With the same amount of resources, investing in teams like 6 Butchers or 7 Sorcerers is much more effective.

This has changed in Season 5 when the effect of the Dragon Tribe has become much more important. You must reach the threshold of 3/5 Dragon Tribe to receive rewards from dragon eggs. Riot has also limited this reward type to the Dragon Tribe champions themselves. As a result, players can upgrade their champions very quickly when choosing this lineup. The Dragon Tribe in Season 5 promises to be a highly potential composition.

Assassin
In Teamfight Tactics Season 4, Assassins are a very strong lineup for snowballing matches with two very strong 3-cost champions, Akali and Katarina. This composition is also strong early on if you own Diana the Chosen and Iron Solari Chain. Therefore, Assassin players can dominate the match in the first four stages, creating a huge advantage in gold and health. This makes the Assassin composition a very effective “rank grinding” option.

However, that snowballing ability of the Assassin trait is no longer present as Teamfight Tactics transitions into Season 5. This is because Katarina has become too weak in Season 5 and no longer deals as much damage as before. Furthermore, you must own Viego (a 5-cost champion) to reach the threshold of 6 Assassins and compete with other team comps. The strongest champion of the Assassin team in Season 5 is Nocturne, who is heavily reliant on items to carry.

Mystic
By some miraculous means, Riot Games has turned all Mystic units in Season 5 into very strong champions. The weakest like Janna is still a champion that buffs damage very well early in the game. Zilean is undisputed for his dominance as he can revive allies with his Time Warp ability. Even Neeko has become the main carry of the Vanguard – Legend team with her incredible damage.

Because of the aforementioned “absurdity,” the Mystic system in Season 5 has been adjusted by Riot to ensure it cannot deal excessive damage. The Mystic champions in Season 5 are primarily limited to supporting teammates, such as buffing stats (Lulu, Lux) or controlling opponents (Morgana, Ryze). They do not possess traits that can push damage to extreme levels like the Legends of Season 4. Even with the 5-cost champion – Kindred, this unit primarily serves to protect the main carry.
