A few days ago, we learned about a “feature” of the League of Legends client which allows players to select skins. Essentially, this doesn’t have a significant impact on players, so the community’s reaction wasn’t too harsh. However, this changed completely when it was discovered that the League of Legends client also randomly changes champions for players during the champion selection phase.
As seen in the video above, it is clear that this player selected the champion Bard. However, when he clicked on “Lock In,” the champion he received was switched to Xayah, a character in the Marksman role. In fact, during the previous champion selection phase, this player only clicked on the support champions section, where Xayah was not present at all.

In cases of accidentally selecting the wrong skin, we could overlook it as just a visual error. However, the automatic champion change mentioned above is much more serious. It is clear that the League of Legends client is experiencing severe bugs that make champion and skin selection completely out of control. Many people even agree that it won’t be long before this issue leads you to choose League of Legends but actually ends up directing you to play a different game or mode altogether.

Will it happen that you select to play League of Legends but end up running VALORANT?
It won’t be long before I select to play League of Legends in 5v5 mode but end up finding a Teamfight Tactics match.
Imagine being stuck with just one champion in Teamfight Tactics.

Isn’t it a bug that in the All For One mode, if both sides select Kai’Sa, the game will crash because the client switches to Teamfight Tactics?
That’s right, this must be called “200 years of top-notch game design experience.”

With cases of champions being swapped as above, it is highly likely that the League of Legends client can also make players select the wrong summoner spells, runes… This is extremely problematic as it directly affects the strength and gameplay of champions at the start of the match. Imagine having to play Renekton with the Arcane Comet rune, that would be a nightmare for any player.

Perhaps what Riot needs to do right now is to thoroughly check and fix all the bugs still present in the League of Legends client. Riot has posted too many articles on the homepage about the accomplishment of “Cleaning up the client,” but it has gradually become a joke among the community. It means nothing if players continue to experience issues like getting kicked from the game, selecting the wrong champions, skins… as mentioned above.
