Just a few minutes ago, Cerberus Esports officially announced that player Kim “Poss” Min-cheol – a top laner from South Korea, has officially been approved for a “Work Permit” in Vietnam.
Specifically, CES stated that Poss’s work permit has been approved by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, meaning this player now officially has the right to work, be employed, and sign a legal labor contract in Vietnam. Poss joined Cerberus Esports at the beginning of 2021 but was not on the roster for the VCS Spring 2021 matches. Previously, this player had time competing for Team WE in the LPL.

This announcement also means that it is highly likely Cerberus will register Poss on the roster for the VCS Summer 2021 tournament. If this registration is approved by the organizers, there is a 99% chance that Poss will become the first foreign player in history to compete in the VCS.
Previously, in 2020, Team Flash even successfully recruited former SKT T1 player – Profit. However, this Korean star did not play a single match for FL, with the reason cited being issues with the foreign player regulations of the VCS, as well as not obtaining a work permit. Profit subsequently parted ways with FL without any fanfare to return to South Korea to fulfill military obligations.

After the case of Profit, many opinions suggested that the VCS organizers should adjust the regulations regarding foreign players, creating opportunities for Vietnamese League of Legends to welcome world-class stars to this tournament. It is very likely that this has become a reality, because if VCS did not approve, CES certainly would not have gone through the trouble of applying for a work permit for Poss.
Additionally, they have also parted ways with player LL, and Poss along with Pun will be the two names occupying the top lane for Cerberus in the new season. Fans of the VCS will surely have a reason to look forward to Poss’s debut, to witness the talent of a Korean player who has previously competed in the LPL – a tournament known for its fierce competition worldwide.
