Recently, Riot Games officially revealed the new game mode for League of Legends called Ultimate Spellbook. This is the game mode accompanying the Summoner’s Rift: Ruined King map, part of the biggest event series of 2021 for League of Legends.

True to its name, Ultimate Spellbook is a game mode that enhances the features of the Spellbook runes, meaning that instead of just changing summoner spells, in this mode, players can choose the ultimate ability of another champion, allowing them to possess up to 2 ultimate spells in their team composition.

– Ultimate Spellbook will have a Blind Pick mode, meaning players can use any champion they like.

– Each champion will still possess their original skill set; however, instead of having 2 summoner spells, players will only be able to choose 1. The remaining summoner spell slot will be used to select an ultimate ability when entering the game.

– Upon entering the match, players will have 30 seconds to choose 1 from 3 randomly appearing ultimate abilities. This ultimate ability cannot be the same as the ultimate of the champion you are currently using. Currently, the version on the PBE features only 39 ultimates from champions:

Ahri

Amumu

Ashe

Azir

Bard

Cho’Gath

Ezreal

Fiddlesticks

The number of ultimate abilities will be gradually updated through each patch.

Your second ultimate will have a cooldown of 135 seconds from when the cooldown counter starts and can be used before reaching level 6. Additionally, they will also be upgraded as players reach levels 11 and 16.

It seems that with this game mechanic, Sylas will be quite a popular pick in the Ultimate Spellbook mode, as he already possesses the ability to steal opponents’ ultimates, and that ability will be enhanced when Sylas gains an additional ultimate spell in his skill set.

The Ultimate Spellbook game mode is expected to officially launch on the League of Legends servers in version 11.14.
