When mentioning “top 10 Challenger in Korea”, all League of Legends fans in Vietnam surely think of SofM. The “King of Games” is the first and only League of Legends player from Vietnam to achieve this feat, and Duy Cau Giay’s accomplishments further highlight his elite status, as the Korean League of Legends server is always regarded as the “highest difficulty dungeon” that every gamer aspires to conquer.
However, recently, apart from SofM, another Vietnamese gamer has established this proud achievement by making it to the top 10 Challenger on the Korean server not just once, but twice, in Teamfight Tactics. That gamer is TG FEED – one of the well-known “luck-based chess” masters in the Vietnamese League of Legends community.

TG FEED’s real name is Nguyen Hoang Thanh, 25 years old, currently a streamer for TG (To Gaming). He is also the captain of the Teamfight Tactics team TG. On this memorable milestone in his try-hard journey, we had the opportunity to chat with the gamer who has a nickname that completely contrasts his level, and we were even more impressed by the achievements that Hoang Thanh has amassed in the past.
Before Teamfight Tactics, TG FEED had been involved with many prestigious Esports titles, leaving significant impressions in each game with commendable achievements. TG FEED once reached the top 10 Challenger in the Vietnamese League of Legends server, 6k MMR in DOTA 2 (ranking in the top 100 of the SEA server in the past), and top 10 in FIFA Online 2 on the Vietnamese server.
TG FEED started his passion for “luck-based chess” when DOTA Autochess was released, and in this game, he excelled by achieving a top 50 world ranking. Transitioning to Teamfight Tactics, he frequently holds the top 1 Challenger position on the Vietnamese server. At the time of our conversation, he had successfully entered the top 10 Challenger in Korea (ranked 9th), marking the second time TG FEED achieved this feat.

With superior skills in Teamfight Tactics, TG FEED has also won numerous awards in community tournaments domestically, including: Champion of the Computer Arena, Champion of KOW Gaming & Pandora Gaming. Most recently, he won the championship at The Chosen Team & The Chosen Couple organized by TG Studio.
Besides the Vietnamese and Korean servers, TG FEED has also successfully conquered the top 10 Challenger on the North American and Western European servers. After a long time “traveling around”, FEED concluded that whether in traditional League of Legends or in variants like Teamfight Tactics, Korean players are still the best gamers in the world:
“As you know, Korea is one of the few countries where being a gamer is respected and valued; even professional Esports players in Korea have the same appeal and influence as celebrities in showbiz. Therefore, gamers on the Korean server truly have a strong desire to win in every game they love. Teamfight Tactics is no exception; every player has a very high try-hard spirit, and I had to work extremely hard to reach this rank.” – TG FEED shared.
“Specifically, I spent 3 months and played 200 matches to reach the top 10 Challenger. My next goal is to make it into the top 5, and further, possibly the top 1. Although it’s very difficult, I believe that if I try hard, I will have a chance to achieve it.”

As a player who has achieved the “Sustainable Gold” title after 5 seasons of Teamfight Tactics, I am genuinely curious about the rank climbing ability of this guy with the nickname “love scam,” named FEED but clearly not afraid of anyone. TG FEED is also not shy about sharing his secrets to success, but clearly, following a formula is one thing, and executing it is another:
“In fact, for me, if you want to excel at something, you first need to dedicate time to understanding it; gaming is no exception. To reach high ranks, you need to thoroughly study the game, from the champions to their effects when combined into team compositions, or how to use them depending on each stage of the match. Next are the types of items, and there are many other variables to consider.
Teamfight Tactics does not require skills, but to play well, you will have to absorb a tremendous amount of information and knowledge about the game, along with being sharp and flexible in adapting your team composition based on the actual match situation, and of course, there’s a bit of luck involved too.”

Even though he has reached the “peak” on the Vietnamese server, Hoang Thanh “FEED,” like many other gamers, has his own idols—people he looks up to as motivation to strive and develop further in his career:
“If we talk about Vietnam, my idol is definitely SofM. Previously, I had the chance to play together at the same gaming cafe with SofM (the X Game cafe in Dương Quảng Hàm) when he had not yet gone abroad to compete. At that time, I was very impressed with SofM because after each match, he would spend a lot of time watching others play, or creating custom rooms to practice skills alone. At that time, I didn’t understand why, but now it’s clear. Even if you are a genius, the path to success still requires hard work, and SofM is the proof of that.”
“To brag a bit, I once soloed Shadow Fiend (DOTA 2) and beat my ‘idol’ SofM. Hehe.”
“As for Teamfight Tactics, my biggest idol is T1 Bebe 872. Everyone who plays chess probably knows this name; he is currently the top 1 gamer in the world and a quite famous streamer for T1 organization.”

Sharing about future aspirations, besides the goal to reach top 1 Challenger in Korea, TG FEED also harbors a burning dream of participating in a professional tournament as a player:
“When I entered the streaming profession, I didn’t think I would progress as far as I have today. I truly thank everyone for supporting me over the years. Personally, I have always had a burning desire to become a professional player, to compete on an international stage.
I hope that Vietnamese Teamfight Tactics will soon have the opportunity to participate in international tournaments in the future, and Vietnamese gamers will have another chance to showcase their talents on a world-class stage. Personally, I believe that Vietnamese Teamfight Tactics has every chance to shine in such tournaments.”
