On July 15th, the LPL community was surprised to discover that Bo – a player previously banned for involvement in match-fixing during the LDL tournament – has returned to FPX and participated in a scrimmage with the team.
This incident quickly caused a stir in the Chinese League of Legends community. Many different opinions targeted FPX, with numerous voices opposing the team’s apparent move to reinstate Bo – a player with a “tainted” past – back into the professional scene.
Recently, the manager of FPX officially addressed this issue. In a post on Weibo, the manager confirmed that FPX has indeed allowed Bo to return to the team, giving this player a chance to seek redemption in the professional arena.

Despite Tian’s stable performance, FPX will allow Bo to participate in scrimmages and compete for the official position fairly against the jungler who won the MVP title at the 2019 World Championship.
Regarding the reason for giving Bo this opportunity, an FPX representative stated that the team believes in the statements Bo made regarding his involvement in match-fixing, specifically that he was coerced into participating in match-fixing under duress.
The representative also mentioned that it would be very easy to “discard” Bo, but by doing so, FPX would not fulfill its responsibility to its player. Therefore, the team has disregarded the mixed opinions to reinstate Bo in the LPL roster, giving the young player a chance to “start over.”
