Blue Buff
The general mindset of Teamfight Tactics players when choosing Light Equipment is to aim for items that provide as much damage as possible. As a result, items that offer energy regeneration effects like Blue Buff are often overlooked, even though this is a perfectly viable choice. In the upcoming patch 11.16, Riot Games has decided to increase the damage output of this item, raising the skill damage it provides by 40 points.

This change makes Blue Buff much more versatile than before. With a base of 30 energy, champions equipped with Blue Buff will be able to cast spells very early and deal significant damage to gain an advantage in health at the start of the battle round. If you are pursuing magic damage dealers like Karma, Teemo, or Vel’Koz but can’t combine them with the Spear of Shojin, don’t hesitate to choose Blue Buff to solve your energy issues.
Targon’s Embrace
Similar to Blue Buff, Targon’s Embrace is not frequently chosen by players as it does not provide strong damage output. However, the defensive capabilities of this item are incredibly powerful, as it can shield up to 7 champions in your team, making them significantly tougher. In fact, the shield stats provided by Targon’s Embrace will also be buffed by an additional 100 points at all levels in the upcoming patch 11.16.

Besides not providing damage, the downside of Targon’s Embrace is that very few team compositions can use it effectively. To optimize the amount of shields provided by this item, you need to have 7 units standing in the same row. Therefore, this equipment seems to be suitable only for compositions with many melee champions. If you choose to build a Warrior or Assassin team, Targon’s Embrace is definitely a worthy item to consider in patch 11.16.
Guinsoo’s Rageblade
Although it can stack up to 10% attack speed per hit, Guinsoo’s Rageblade does not have the Light Effect like Runaan’s Hurricane or the Evergreen Bow. Therefore, this item struggles to compete with other items that also provide attack speed. As a result, Guinsoo’s Rageblade has extremely poor statistics, such as an 8.1% win rate and an average placement of only 5.05 in patch 11.15.

Riot likely realizes this, so in the upcoming patch 11.16, Guinsoo’s Rageblade will now provide an immediate 30% attack speed. This will greatly enhance the stacking capability of this item and boost the damage output for the main damage dealer. One note is that in patch 11.16, Lucian will also be adjusted to interact better with items that have on-hit effects. Who knows, Guinsoo’s Rageblade might just become a core item for Lucian.
