Although the LEC Summer 2021 has not yet concluded, the overall picture of this season has already been shaped with the identification of 3 representatives for the 2021 World Championship. Thus, the European League of Legends tournament has finalized the list of the all-star roster for the summer, as voted by the community.
However, upon announcing the results, even G2 Esports fans were led to believe it was a “setup”, as the former LEC champions contributed 3 out of 5 names in the top all-star roster, despite their early elimination from the Playoffs and loss of their Worlds spot.

Specifically, the number one all-star lineup of the LEC Summer 2021 includes:
– Top Lane: RGE Odoamne.
– Jungle: RGE Inspired.
– Mid Lane: G2 Caps.
– AD Carry: G2 Rekkles.
– Support: G2 Mikyx.
The top three teams of the LEC Summer, MAD Lions, Rogue, and Fnatic, contributed only 2 names from RGE. While it is true that G2’s three positions played fairly well this season, their inclusion in the number one all-star lineup still left many fans feeling “irritated” as they believed there were more deserving players.
However, it should be emphasized that this lineup was voted on by fans, and in Europe, G2’s overwhelming fanbase throughout the rest of the tournament is undeniable. So aside from Wunder and Jankos, who fell to the point of being “undefendable”, it is not surprising that Caps, Rekkles, and Mikyx made it into the number one all-star lineup. (Even Jankos and Wunder still made it into the second and third all-star lineups).
Compared to the number one lineup, the second and third all-star rosters seem to meet the “professional standards” better, featuring players who had impressive performances this season, notably Adam, Humanoid, Hans Sama, and Upset.

The 2021 season marked the worst decline in G2’s history, as they left empty-handed across all fronts and failed to qualify for the Worlds for the first time. However, this was not enough to overshadow the influence of this team, and fans still have reason to believe they will return stronger in the 2022 season.
