In the history of League of Legends in the LPL region, numerous names have become immortal legends. Due to their past successes, their current glories, or simply because they have made Chinese League of Legends renowned worldwide. Notable names include Uzi, Doinb, Clearlove, TheShy, Rookie…

Recently, a program in China invited guests and the League of Legends community to participate in a poll to choose the players who had the brightest performances at their peak. Four names were put forward for voting: TheShy, Doinb, Uzi, and Clearlove.

All of these players are among the best competing in the LPL under the banners of major teams. Except for Uzi, who has retired, the remaining three are still active, and notably, Doinb (FunPlus Phoenix) and Clearlove (EDward Gaming) just secured their spots at the 2021 Worlds.

However, the name that received the most votes, significantly surpassing the others, is TheShy – the top laner currently playing for Invictus Gaming.

The reasoning behind this is that TheShy, despite having endured a forgettable season in his career where he and IG went home empty-handed in the domestic league and missed out on a spot at the 2021 Worlds, cannot be denied. In 2018 and especially 2019 – years that can be considered the peak of the Korean player, he delivered brilliant performances that left a lasting impression. According to some fans, although TheShy won the 2018 Worlds title, in 2019 he only reached the semifinals and secured one domestic championship (Spring 2019), it was 2019 when TheShy was in his best form. Unfortunately, during that time, his teammates began to lose their form after a successful 2018.

The lowest votes went to Doinb. According to the Chinese League of Legends community’s explanation, the question is “Which players have had the best performances at the peak of their careers?”, and Doinb’s peak has not yet concluded, making him ineligible for voting. Following TheShy, Uzi ranks second and the other name, Clearlove, comes in third.

These voting results also serve as recognition from the LPL League of Legends community for TheShy’s contributions throughout the peak years of his career. Currently, this player has seen a decline in performance, but he is still quite young, and if he can return to his best form, TheShy could achieve remarkable feats like he did during his glorious years of 2018 – 2019.
