In the world of online gaming, there have always been “toxic” players who regularly seek to insult and berate their opponents just for fun. League of Legends is no exception. In fact, there are even more absurd cases where many players feel the need to insult famous figures (players, commentators, Riot employees…) for no reason, simply to look cool.
In a recent stream, VETV commentator – “the Garena insider” Đức Mạnh faced unwarranted insults from opponents. Notably, Đức Mạnh was playing with some streamer friends like Trâu TV, Ling Cao Thủ, Zumi 3H,… resulting in a high viewership for the stream. Therefore, some viewers speculated that those “reckless players wanting to show off” aimed to “get on TV” through their insults.

Initially, streamer Đức Mạnh thought that the insults were just for fun, but when the words went too far, he “muted” the opponents and confidently declared: “These guys are banned now, I took a screenshot.”
“If they insult me, they can just get banned, what else is there? I have supreme power, so why worry? Insulting feels good for one game and then getting banned, they think it’s a pity, but it has to be like that for them to learn. So next time, when they see VETV, they won’t mess with it anymore.” – commentator Đức Mạnh told the viewers.
By the end of the match, commentator Đức Mạnh and his friends reported the opponents for “Hate Speech, Harassment.”

At the same time, many viewers believed that the report was useless and that those accounts would not face any penalties. However, about 15 minutes later, commentator Mạnh Mèo and his teammates received “good news” including 2 notifications stating “the punishment has been executed,” much to the delight of the viewing community.
Most gamers expressed satisfaction when toxic players in the game were justly punished. But there were also many questions about whether a regular player reporting would receive the same outcome as commentator Đức Mạnh.
Not only in the Vietnamese League of Legends server, but in most regions around the world, Riot’s post-game reporting system has been criticized for being ineffective. There is a very low rate of cases where reported players receive feedback, while there are many who blatantly display toxic behavior, cheat, and even livestream day after day without facing any consequences.

Commentator Đức Mạnh is also a case that can be considered a “Riot/Garena insider,” so his reports are handled swiftly, similar to the case of Faker. The Demon King once spoke out against the rank trolling behavior of some users on the Korean server, and less than 12 hours later, 4 Challenger accounts were permanently banned. Meanwhile, regular gamers had reported these accounts repeatedly, but Riot Korea still allowed them to exist.
