Tryndamere’s Dark Knight skin accused of being “pay-to-lose”, severely handicapping players using ultimate

And of course, this is not the first time the "father" of League of Legends has made this mistake in its skin lines.

Recently, Riot released images of the new Divine – Dark Knight skin line. The champions who will own these skins include the new champion Vex, Morgana, and Yone in the Divine group, while Dark Knight will include Kayn, Tryndamere, and Lillia. Notably, Kayn’s skin will feature a Prestige Edition. In addition to the Divine – Dark Knight skin group, Jarvan IV will also be unveiled.

It’s not the names like the “handsome guys and beautiful girls” such as Yone, Kayn, or Morgana, or even the new champion Vex that have caught attention, but rather… Tryndamere. Specifically, some players have discovered that Tryndamere’s Dark Knight skin features a red circle effect under his feet when he uses R – Undying Rage. And notably, this red circle gradually disappears over the duration of Undying Rage. In other words, players can observe the red circle under Tryndamere’s feet to time their attacks on him.

Tryndamere’s Dark Knight skin

This is not the first time Riot has created a “pay-to-lose” skin for its champions. Remember when the Technological Kassadin skin was released? It was also a “pay-to-lose” skin. When the owner of the Kassadin skin uses R – Riftwalk, an effect appears beforehand at the chosen location before he appears. If players are quick enough, they can fully “read” this champion. This was discovered by the League of Legends community, but Riot did not address it at all.

Kassadin’s R – Riftwalk becomes predictable thanks to the Technological skin

By adding too many effects to skin lines, Riot has inadvertently made the skill sets of some champions easier to predict, and using a skin could potentially backfire. Of course, Riot’s skins in League of Legends do not affect power levels, but the accompanying effects can make a skin, no matter how beautiful, ultimately… “discarded”.
