Attack Disable Effect
If you remember, the Attack Disable effect once appeared in Teamfight Tactics Seasons 1-3 and was associated with the item Blade of the Ruined King. The imbalance point of Blade of the Ruined King was that it applied the Attack Disable effect completely randomly, which could create unbelievable winning rounds purely by luck. Due to such a heavy reliance on “luck,” Blade of the Ruined King disappeared for a very long time.

However, during a livestream with player Mismatched Socks, Teamfight Tactics Project Director – Riot Mortdog shared that the Attack Disable effect has a very high chance of appearing in Season 6. This is considered necessary for players to counter powerful champions that rely on basic attack capabilities. Take the current Season 5.5 as an example; there are too many champions of this type that are proving to be extremely strong without sufficient counterplay. It seems Riot doesn’t want such a meta to repeat in Season 6, which is why they are bringing back the Attack Disable effect.
Pull Champions
It’s not an exaggeration to say that pull champions have played a significant role in helping Teamfight Tactics become more balanced. If pull champions didn’t exist, the “all-in” strategy for a few super strong backline carries would become extremely powerful with almost no counters available. This also prevents melee carries from having a place as strong ranged champions dominate.

Right in the latest video introducing Season 6, we saw Blitzcrank appearing with his familiar skill of pulling enemy champions from a distance. Unless Riot is tricking players like they did with the Season 5 introduction of Aurelion Sol, Blitzcrank will definitely be present in the upcoming Season 6. This promises to be an essential factor for Teamfight Tactics players to enhance their skills in calculation and team composition.
Emblems for All Traits – Classes
Before the Season 5.5 update, trait and class emblems were limited to a certain number. This was intended to prevent the imbalanced playstyles that had occurred in the past when a champion became too strong due to having a specific trait or class emblem. We certainly can’t forget the extremely “toxic” playstyles like Nocturne Blademaster in Season 2 or Aurelion Sol Blaster during Season 3.

However, by the time we reached Season 5.5, Riot found a different solution by creating emblems for all traits and classes but limiting them to a very rare item called the Emblem of the Book. This method proved to be quite effective, as it still limited imbalanced playstyles while creating significant breakthroughs in team strength. Sharing with player Mismatched Socks, Riot Mortdog expressed great enthusiasm for this mechanic, so it has a very high chance of continuing to be applied in the upcoming Season 6.
